Kid Icarus Presents:
Screen Printing Wars
Round 1 - Kid Icarus vs Colour Code Printing vs Carl Wagan Collective
2pm-3pm
Bloor and Delaware
Hosted by local comedy gems, Daryn McIntyre and Andy Hull!
A battle between teams of professional screen printers with a challenge to produce the best gig poster within the time limit and with limited resources.
Teams consist of 2 contestants. Each team is given a random event from the Bloorcourt area to promote and the teams have one hour to complete a run of posters. Once the clock starts, they race towards a pile of barely usable screens and jars of random ink, and proceed to create a design.
They only have one hour to pull something together. Will they have time to complete the job? Or will it all end in disaster? Find out on August 18th at The Bloorcourt Arts & Crafts Street Fair!

THE CARL WAGAN BOOKMOBILE is a traveling campervan of cosmic proportions. It is a gallery, printshop, studio, library, reading room, classroom, and community project—all contained within a 1988 VW Westfalia. CARL WAGAN promotes active engagement with book-based cultural activity such as self-publishing, zine-making, screen-printing, and bookbinding. Subtitled “The Spaceship of the Imagination,” CARL is partly a loving homage to the innovation of astronomer Carl Sagan whose passion for dreaming continues to inspire generations of thinkers. CARL WAGAN is an experiment in radical pedagogy—bringing the strategies, materials, ideas and dialogues of independent publishing to a wide variety of audiences.
